Medical Care

With access to onsite, mobile and in-home medical care, OPCC program participants are able to maintain and improve their health and relieve some of the stress on public services. This results in lower cost to taxpayers.

OPCC's medical services include:

-          Primary care services at the Access Center, offered by Venice Family Clinic (VFC)

-          The Wellness Program, teaching healthy behaviors and self-care to OPCC’s clients

-          Nursing care to clients on the street and in interim and permanent housing

-          “Health and Homes”, a collaboration with VFC through which OPCC connects chronically homeless clients, who have ongoing physical health and medical conditions, to case management and supportive services

-          Wellness Beds at Samoshel, offering space for chronically homeless individuals with acute and chronic medical conditions to recover and improve their health

-          Integrated Mobile Health Team (IMHT), street outreach from a physician and physician’s assistant, offering care and check-ups for vulnerable, hard-to-reach individuals

-          UCLA Student Clinics at OPCC’s Access Center and SAMOSHEL. On alternating Sundays, two separate clinics provide medical services provided by students and a licensed physician
